Why print Giclée?

Working artists know that for each original piece that is sold, another must be created. Having the ability to sell a high quality, signed reproduction allows the artist to generate that much more income.

There are several types of reproductions to be considered. Two of which are the "Open Edition" and the "Limited Edition".

The Open Edition allows the artist freedom to print any number of reproductions. The Limited Edition restricts the artist to a finite series of prints which are signed and numbered.

In the case of the Limited Edition print, we can provide you with a Certificate of Authenticity. The COA lends credibility regarding the limited edition production of art. The artist and printmaker signs a document detailing the title, size, medium, number and date of printing of the LE.

The big advantage of digital printing is that no matter which type of edition you are printing, there are no minimum order requirements. Each print can be ordered as needed, which means no money tied up in inventory.

What is a scanning back camera?
The scanning back is among the finest ways to capture fine art originals for reproduction. Unlike single shot backs or cameras, scanning backs have the resolution capabilities to record the desired number of pixels per inch across the largest originals. The advantages of this technology are the extremely high image quality and the huge resulting files. This translates to very accurate color reproduction, because every pixel is measured individually, allowing printing in very large sizes without loss of detail.

How do we assure corner to corner sharpness in our image capture?

We Zig-Align™. It is a system of mirrors allowing for the precise alignment of the camera to the art thus eliminating any distortion in the final capture. This is critical in producing a fine art print that is razor sharp from corner to corner.

What if I Only Have a Digital File of My Work?

If you no longer have your original artwork, a color print or proof to match would be the next best thing. Without a print to communicate the color, we would rely on your direction to come to an acceptable solution.
